SURGICAL PATHOLOGY FELLOWSHIP
The Department of Pathology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center/University Medical Center is accepting applications for a one-year fellowship position in Surgical Pathology to begin July 1, 2008. This fellowship will provide advanced training in diagnostic Surgical Pathology with all the specialties, including Transplantation Pathology, Neuropathology, and Immunopathology. A clinical research project will be encouraged. The University of Arizona has pathology faculty with expertise in Gastrointestinal Pathology, Heart and Lung Pathology, Neuropathology/Muscle Disease, Hematopathology, Renal Pathology, and Obstetrics and Gynecologic Pathology. The hospital is a tertiary care medical center with an adjacent Comprehensive Cancer Center that draws in patients from throughout the western United States. The candidate will be expected to participate in clinical conferences and teach residents, medical students, and fellows, as appropriate. Our outreach surgical pathology cases, which arrive daily from other parts of the state, will be the fellow’s special responsibility and will prepare the fellow for independent practice. Salary and benefits are commensurate with the level of training of the individual.
Requirements:
Applicants should have completed either an Anatomic Pathology or an Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology residency training program.
